Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The position reports directly to and works closely with the Financial Analyst to manage, coordinate, and execute various accounting activities and staff. The position will be involved with monthly financial reporting, project cost reporting, contract administration, billing management, accounts receivable, and payroll.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Financial Analyst Job Duties:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders including working directly with the Controller, CFO, VPs, Project Management group, and area managers (who manage regional construction districts).
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Respond to requests from various levels of management for information, financial analysis, and/or reports.
  • Work with the Billing Manager to supervise billing This includes invoice creation using our internal accounting system, Excel templates, AIA formats, and/or online customer portals. Billing frequency may be weekly, monthly, or upon completion of depending on customers individual requirements and project type (hourly, unit, lump sum).
  • Work with the Cost Accounting Manager to supervise cost accounting This includes equipment tracking and reporting, management of corporate purchasing and fleet cards, accounts payable, and centralized hotel booking.
  • Develop, document, and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as best practices.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory

SKILLS & ABILITIES

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

 

Experience:  5 years’ of work experience in business or public accounting, preferably in the construction industry.

 

Computer Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel will be necessary with an aptitude toward other systems and tools including ERP systems, data collection tools, and Microsoft 365 applications.

 

Certificates & Licenses: CPA license a plus, but not required.

 

Other Requirements:  Thorough knowledge of general accounting, excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
